ADAMS Chassis Engineer (5-10 yrs)
ADAMS-Chassis Engineer
Duties and responsibilities :
- Create, iterate and document performance of ADAMS and Hyperworks multibody dynamic (MBD) suspension models for new car and SUV platform variants
- Participate in target-setting vehicle program attributes for ride, steering, handling and braking. Have familiarity using MBD model to cascade load data to support durability analysis.
- Refine MBD models to establish correlation with objective test data, perform simulations of vehicle dynamic physical tests and publish analysis reports.
- Perform Design of Experiments (DoE), using MBD models in assessing vehicle attribute variations to operating environments/error-states.
- Evaluate robustness of MBD model to variations in assembly and component tolerances.
- Assist to establish vehicle and chassis tuning component specifications to support vehicle development testing at proving grounds.
- Document analysis with clear, concise reporting of fact-based results, conclusions and recommendations.
- Correlating simulation results with vehicle or sub-system measurements, and actively seek for ways to improve simulation accuracy
- Additional responsibilities will include developing other CAE tools for predicting and evaluating vehicle steering, handling, and comfort performance, as well as documenting and reporting the details of simulation models, simulation results, accuracy analysis, and accuracy improvement measures.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to solve technical problems.
Preferred Specialized Knowledge and Skills :
- ADAMS model creation, iteration
- Basic understanding of multiple front and rear suspension architectures, including understanding of the effects moving hard points
- Preferred experience with front SLA and strut double ball joint suspensions, rear integral link and multilink suspensions
- Experience with multi-body simulation tools, preferably ADAMS, MotionView/MotionSolve
- Preferred, but not required: experience using FEA software, including Hyperworks, ABAQUS, nCode, LS-DYNA, MSC/NASTAN
- Preferred, but not required: Familiar with IGES, STEP, Parasolid, and DXF/DWG files.
- Experience in chassis and suspension systems required

Required Education and Experience :
- B.S. in engineering from accredited school, Master's degree or higher preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to organize and present technical fact-based information clearly and effectively.
- High level of analytical problem-solving; enjoys challenge using skillset to work on difficult, complex problems.
- 5+ years- vehicle dynamics CAE work experience, preferably with OEM in advanced automotive chassis design or vehicle dynamics activity.
- In-depth understanding of vehicle dynamics theory and simulation methods used in CAE to characterize and report vehicle dynamic attributes.
- Experience within a Chinese automotive Electric Vehicle company is a plus.
- Chinese language proficiency not required, but a plus
