AGM/DGM - Design & Engineering - Solar Water Pumps (8-15 yrs)
Job Description :
- This position is primarily responsible to ensure the Rural Solar Water Pumps and other related Solar Products in developed and designed with best in business intelligence, oversee the growth and scaling of our design practices, and instill a design culture across the company. Be a key contributor to a strategic level to Company's growth strategy and team development. This position will help us to deliver Solar products that have a substantive impact on Company's Infrastructure Business.
- Accountable for design and Engineering of Rural Solar Water Pumps, Home lighting systems and other related products and from start to end including technical specification, vendor development (technical), project state inspections, Installation and commissioning of Projects etc
- To design the best in class and lowest possible losses with best performance ratio of Products being developed
- To provide Basic and detailed drawings for the system, including a detailed installation manuals and guides.
- Leads, plans and coordinates engineering activities to develop and apply standardized design criteria and production requirements for parts and equipment used in Solar Water Pumps and related Solar Products; Establishes and maintains liaison between Engineering and other departments to formulate and apply design criteria and production requirements for proposed products
- Analyzes Rural Solar Water Pumps product design data to determine conformance to established design selection criteria, use of standardized parts and equipment- s, and design-to-cost ratio
- Leads and approves initial design or recommends modification based on productivity, cost, and component technology factors
- Leads and manages testing of new parts and equipment- s, evaluates test results, and approves or rejects usage of parts and equipment based on test results
- Proactively engage in vendor selection process and be responsible for technical evaluation of the components
- Works on innovation in Power electronics, Motors and pumps to make them more robust and reduce cost by Value Engineering.
- Initiates and provides technical direction for research and development programs to enhance production methods, improves parts and equipment's technology, and reduces cost
- Work with leading institutions to use their faculties and students to invent and innovate new products and designs.
- Develops method and programs to predict, tract, and report production costs during design development
- Plays a critical role in defining - Successful space- in the clients eyes and delivering absolutely nothing less than that is paramount
- Makes technology and design choices ensuring best in class products with optimal value and quality delivered to customers
- Be hands-on- and take ownership of specific Design & Engineering tasks him/herself in hardware and power electronics
- Lead the Value Addition / Value Engineering activities and constancy endeavor to optimize the cost of the system integrated by company while maintaining the highest standard of Quality
- Be responsible for QA, Product certifications and Quality test reports from external laboratories
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics, and preferably post-graduation degree in Engineering, with strong technical acumen and successful experience (minimum 8-10 years) in managing Design & Engineering experience with at least 5 in energy companies, with preference in Pumps/ Solar /Manufacturing
- Proven experience in using stage of the art Design & Engineering best practices (lean development methods)
- Proven experience of - design to manufacture- practices in electronics products, and to bring new design all the way to manufacturing, field tests an market launch
- Significant and proven experience of - hands-on- hardware development of small/medium series of B2G, B2B and B2C electronics products, for industrial applications
- A positive attitude, highly motivated, calm demeanor and the ability to maintain a culture that is based on teamwork, respect and integrity
- Ability to build consultative relationships with senior management, working closely with them and becoming a trusted partner for thinking strategically about the business
- Ability to develop clear, concise and pragmatic findings and recommendations, and strong communication skills including preparing and delivering well-designed presentations
- Ability to scope and structure complex projects and manage multiple teams
- Exceptional interpersonal leadership and influencing skills, including ability to achieve goals without direct control over resources
- Strong attention to detail with high-level vision to meet deadlines
