Amway - Manager - Botanical & Raw Material (7-10 yrs)
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Work with India and Corporate R&D department to identify and validate new botanical species mentioned, but not yet leveraged in Ayurveda as well as and varieties/biotypes with functional benefits in product applications. Provide financial and operational input for internal crop production and transition to manufacturing.
2. Provide technical support by working with internal and third party labs to implement analytical development of analytical markers to support Ayurveda and non-Ayurveda ingredients.
3. Fully support audit process on various suppliers, together with QA division.
4. In conjunction with internal partners, develop and implement within a year, Quality by Design approach using DOE and process analytical technologies to botanical extraction practices.
5. Support organic farming of various agricultural partners and assure uptodate certification processes using third party certifying agencies.
6. Identify alternate source of herbal raw materials including working with NGOs and farmers.
7. Interact regularly with R&D Management, Senior Executives, and Amway India and global R&D department to develop strategy and to ensure key objectives are achieved.
8. Work with global discovery on various approaches to develop botanical platform and support the development of these approaches using local resources.
9. Support the operation of advanced analytical chemistry Lab equipments, including ICP-MS/OES used for scientific testing.
10. Coordinate agricultural research being done under company grants at selected universities and private partners.
Required Abilities
- Knowledge of research methodologies in botanical disciplines and scholarly capacity to interpret findings.
- Knowledge in experiment's design.
- Team Leading/ Managing. To gain the assistance of others: colleagues at GAO site and Amway, administrative staff and people in the private sector to carry out research projects.
- Innovative and Creative, with Critical Judgment.
- Ability to use knowledge and skills to devise solutions to unfamiliar problems.
- Ability to analyse and critically evaluate arguments and evidence appropriate to the Agricultural discipline (e.g. collect analyse and interpret data and information, generate and test hypotheses, synthesise and organise information).
- Ability to generate ideas/products/methods/approaches/perspectives as appropriate in Agricultural research.
