RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs theoretical and experimental scientific research or investigation toward the acquisition of new knowledge including compiling and interpreting third party literature.

Responsibilities includes:

- Researching, reviewing and summarizing available scientific literature to assess viability of proposed claims, identify substantiation methods and document results

- Translating complex scientific and technical concepts into consumer appropriate language with vivid and compelling visuals to enable communication and understanding of the technology and science underlying the brands and products

- Effectively compiling, synthesizing and communicating knowledge from multiple sources/databases leveraging existing and emerging scientific literature to generate new insights and mechanisms of action or targets for technology exploration

- Selecting and auditing investigation sites, developing protocols, overseeing studies, managing data and issuing a final report with recommendations

- Participating in the company's work with relevant external scientific and technical organizations, academics and researchers in order to gain new insights, influence key opinion leaders and enhance the reputation of the company and brands

- Publishing, as appropriate, to targeted journals or other media

- Communicating discipline specific scientific complexities and opportunities for new products, services or claims with technical and non technical colleagues and internal customers

- Responding to affiliate and customer inquiries related to product technology and use

- Providing mentoring, coaching and support on technical programs and projects which may include directing the day-to-day work of technicians, lower level scientists/engineers, interns and/or contractors

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

- Pharmaceutical, nutrition, cosmetic or related consumer products industry

- Research/experimental methods including data analysis

- Clinical study design and interpretation

- Conducting or leading multidisciplinary scientific investigations

- Approaches, tools and techniques that promote the ability to transcend traditional ideas, rules, patterns and relationships to create meaningful new ideas, forms, methods and interpretations in a variety of business situations

- Evaluating propositions or hypotheses and making judgments on the basis of well-supported evidence

- Identifying and anticipating problems, reviewing related information, developing and evaluating options, making decisions and implementing solutions

- Effectively communicating and presenting technical complex data (both verbally and written) to influence all levels and global audiences

- Applying scientific research principles and practices, experimental design and execution, and creating or locating, interpreting and evaluating research findings

- Interacting with/leading cross-functional teams to achieve defined objectives through consulting and positive interaction with culturally diverse team members, external partners and clients

- Planning, organizing, monitoring and controlling projects; ensuring efficient utilization of technical resources and appropriate mitigation of risk to achieve project objectives

Educational Qualification: BS/MS/ PHD in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Nutrition, Molecular Biology or related Scientific discipline
