SUMMARY :

Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority is established for the purpose of Planning, Co-ordination, Execution, Supervision, Financing, and Funding and for Promoting and securing the Planned Development of the Capital Region and Capital City Area for the State of Andhra Pradesh.

Tasks :

Perform engineering duties in planning, designing, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of large structural steel buildings with metal deck floors and structural steel framing and extensive structural steelwork for the cladding, to ensure world class buildings are erected on time with topmost quality and within budget.

Key Responsibilities :

- Analyze configurations of the basic structural components of a building or other structure;

- Liaise with construction contractors and Project Management Consultancy (PMC) to ensure that newly erected buildings are structurally sound;

- Ensure by constant review of the drawings and meticulous site inspection that the architectural intent is met

- Lead the quality control efforts on owner's behalf for the structural steel fabrication, erection, weld quality, tightness of bolts etc. per the relevant national and international standards.

- Use computers and computer-aided design (CAD) technology for simulation purposes.

Work Experience :

The candidate should be 10-15 yrs with a minimum of 5 years of intense post qualification experience in the design and execution from a reputed design/EPC organization and should be equally capable in the design and execution functions.

- Must have previous experience leading the delivery of work packages on large structural steel construction

- Experience in design, execution, weld quality inspection and erection of complicated steel structures, preferably multi-storied steel buildings.

- Must have experience in design and installation of tubular steel structures, preferably diagrids

- Experience in structural steel connection design including steel-concrete connections

- Experience in foundations and concrete superstructures is an added advantage.

Scope of Work : Should work in Urban Services and Infrastructure unit of APCRDA for designing, design review and execution of iconic structural steel buildings.

Education :

- B.E, B. Tech in Civil / Mechanical Engineering, preferably M.E/M. Tech. In Structural Engineering/Industrial structures/Marine structures

Competencies required :

Knowledge :

- Engineering and Technology - Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.

- Building and Construction - Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, or other structures such as highways and roads.

- Management of Material Resources - Obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work.

- Perceptual Speed - The ability to quickly and accurately compare similarities and differences among sets of letters, numbers, objects, pictures, or patterns. The things to be compared may be presented at the same time or one after the other. This ability also includes comparing a presented object with a remembered object.

- Evaluating Information to Determine Compliance with Standards - Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.

- Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Material - Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.

Skill Sets :

- Design & field experience in usage of State of Art software for analysis & designing, preferably ETABS, SAP2000 and SAFE. Exposure to Revit/Tekla is an added advantage.

- Knowledge latest versions of IS:800, IS:875, IS:1893, AISC, AWS and European standards

Abilities :

- Capable for handling all aspects of the structural steel projects in the design and execution phases

- Ability to study and interpret fabrication drawings

- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple contractors and subcontractors
