Assistant/Deputy Manager - CAD Designer - Automotive Lighting Sector (5-8 yrs)
We are hiring for one of our clients - a reputed OEM player in the automotive lighting sector - for the role of Assistant/Deputy Manager - CAD Designer. The selected candidate will be responsible for driving new product development, design execution, and program delivery across lighting and plastic product lines. The position is based at Gurgaon.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design for lighting products using SolidWorks/CATIA/AutoCAD
- Execute concept and section design, ensuring DFM and DFA principles are followed
- Sound knowledge in LED and other electronic basic knowledge
- Concept design study for lighting product
- Section design for lighting product
- Conduct DFMEA, DVP reviews, and manage documentation for customer approvals
- Collaborate with vendors for prototyping, tooling, and material selection
- Evaluate manufacturing feasibility and align with customer RFQs and specifications
- Drive cost reduction through BOM accuracy, raw material optimization, and vendor identification
- Ensure accurate BOM preparation and timely updates in SAP/ERP systems
- Support on-time commercialization of new products to meet top and bottom-line goals
- Manage APQP, PPAP, ECN, and maintain all related records with traceability
- Prepare detailed project plans aligned with customer milestones and internal delivery targets
- Track development lots (DP, PP, MPT, Pilot) and flag deviations proactively
- Liaise with customers and internal teams to meet technical, cost, and delivery requirements
- Drive process improvement and maintain master documentation for audits and compliance
Requirements:
- Diploma or B.Tech in Mechanical/ElectricalEngineering
- 5 to 8 years of experience in automotive lighting or plastic product design
- Strong command over SolidWorks/CATIA/AutoCAD, and understanding of AIS/ECE standards
- Familiarity with DFMEA, BOM, APQP, PPAP, ECN processes, and ERP platforms
- Exposure to tooling, plastic materials, cost engineering, and quality systems
- Excellent communication, program tracking, and cross-functional collaboration skills
The group is currently operating 6-days a week format.
