Position Title : Assistant Engineer - Quality Assurance_Assembly

Role Type : Quality Engineer

Experience: Diploma in Mechanical with knowledge on NDT in UT, MPI, DP & radiography inspection. Reporting to : Section Head / HOD - Quality Assurance

Location : PTB Mysuru

Purpose of the role:

- This role of Asst. Engineer-QA reports to section head/ Head-QA, will be responsible for timely execution and will be solely responsible for managing complete QA activities effectively and take intelligent decisions to achieve the requirements.

- Inspection of assembly activities. i.e Dynamic Balancing, Assembly Parameters, Assembly Dimensions, coupling shrink fitting etc.

- Knowledge on standards i.e AGMA, API & ISO standards related to high-speed gearboxes.

- To carryout Mechanical Run Test (MRT) of gearboxes as per AGMA/API standards.

- To carryout visual inspection (strip test) after MRT & to take photographs.

- Preparation of Quality assurance plan & MRT procedures.

- Interaction with customer during Mechanical Run Test (MRT) & strip test.

- Final assembly inspection & clearance for box up of gearbox.

- To carryout dispatch inspection & to ensure fitment of all accessories as per the GA drawing & bill of material.

- Coordinating with customers/ external agencies for audits and completion of documentation. Resolving issues related to product & testing.

- Providing dispatch clearance for gearboxes & gear internals.

- Issue of packing slips covering all accessories, spares & loose supplied items to shipping dept.

- Inspection of refurbishing gearboxes & issue of inspection report.

Job Specifications / Profile:

- Diploma in Mechanical Engineer with 3+ years of experience in Quality assurance from Manufacturing industry / In process experience in Foundry.

- Ability to understand and communicate in English/Hindi & local language is essential.

- Knowledge of API 613, AGMA 6011 & ISO standards are essentials.

- Knowledge of problem solving, 5W-1H & 8D methodology.

- Hands on experience in handling inspection activities independently. Capable of using instruments and gauges & SAP working environment.

- Candidate should have good knowledge of non-destructive testing i.e UT, MPI, DP & radiography inspection.

- Good knowledge on implementing methods to inspect, test and evaluate reliability, precision and accuracy of processes and product.

- A good understanding of noise & vibration analysis is an advantage.

- Competent with MS-Office (MS Word, MS Excel, Power point, outlook).
