Job Description:

Position Title : Assistant Engineer - Quality Assurance_UT

Role Type : Quality Engineer

Experience: Diploma in Mechanical with NDT or Equivalent certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT).

Reporting to : Section Head / HOD - Quality Assurance

Location : PTB Mysuru

Purpose of the role:

- This role of Asst. Engineer-QA reports to section head/ Head-QA, will be responsible for timely execution and will be solely responsible for managing complete QA activities effectively and take intelligent decisions to achieve the requirements.

- Set up and operate Ultrasonic FLAW DETECTOR equipment. Also set up and operate recording equipment as a complement to sonic equipment.

- Reading of part drawing and follow the dimension inspection as per the drawing or standard.

- Scan assessable areas of forgings as specified by process sheets or according to established procedures.

- Evaluate and record size and location of internal defects indicated on screen to ascertain that forgings or other materials meet all government, customer, and Wyman-Gordon sonic specifications.

- Release forgings for further processing or shipment if they satisfy specification requirements.

- Hold for review and evaluation any that fail to meet these requirements.

- Prepare and maintain logs, worksheets and other records listing dates, method, test results, etc.

- Perform work in other inspection areas as required.

- Perform operational testing of sonic equipment to ensure accuracy.

- Maintain equipment and work area in a neat and orderly condition.

Job Specifications / Profile:

- Diploma in Mechanical Engineer with 3+ years of experience in Quality assurance from Manufacturing industry / In process experience in Foundry.

- Ability to understand and communicate in English/Hindi & local language is essential.

- Candidate should have good knowledge of non-destructive testing with ASNT level II or equivalent certificate in UT.

- Competent with MS-Office (MS Word, MS Excel, Power point, outlook).
