ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Quality Control: Ensuring that biodiesel produced meets industry standards and regulatory requirements. This involves testing for parameters such as purity, viscosity, flash point, and other chemical properties.
- Research and Development: Working on improving biodiesel formulations, finding new feedstock sources, and enhancing production processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Process Optimization: Analyzing and optimizing the production process to improve yield and reduce waste.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensuring that all laboratory operations adhere to safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Team Management: Supervising laboratory staff, providing training, and ensuring that all team members are following proper procedures.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Collecting, analyzing, and reporting data related to biodiesel production and quality control. This includes maintaining detailed records of experiments and test results.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring that all laboratory equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
- Feedstock Analysis: Testing various feedstocks (e.g., vegetable oils, animal fats, waste oils) to determine their suitability for biodiesel production.
- Transesterification Process: Monitoring and optimizing the chemical process that converts feedstock into biodiesel.
- By-product Utilization: Finding ways to utilize or dispose of by-products such as glycerin in an environmentally friendly manner.
EXPERIENCE:
HANDLING BELOW LIST OF EQUIPMENTS:
- Gas Chromatography (GC): To determine the composition and purity of biodiesel. (Mandatory)
- Spectroscopy: For analyzing chemical properties and contaminants.
- Viscosity Measurements: To ensure proper flow characteristics.
- Flash Point Testing: To determine the temperature at which biodiesel vapours ignite.
SKILLS:
- Strong background in chemistry and chemical engineering.
- Proficiency with laboratory equipment and analytical techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
