Assistant Manager Research & Development - Pneumatic Tools (5-10 yrs)
Job Description :
Role : Assistant Manager Research & Development (Only BE/Btech Mechanical candidates preferred).
- Good knowledge of CAD / CAM / Analytical Software
- Experience in planning, drafting, designing and project execution
Experience : 5 Yrs to 10 Yrs
Work Location : Bangalore
Mode : WFO (Mon-Sat)
Notice period : Immediate joiners preferred. Those serving NP- 30-45 days only
Qualification : Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical)/Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical)
Roles and Responsibilities :
Design & Implementation :
1. Understand the customer requirement in terms of performance standards, timeline and budget for the new product
2. Develop optimal design of the products with focus on cost, quality and energy efficient operations
3. Develop Key Technological Studies & publish relevant literature on the subject matter by referencing Printed Literature & Analytical Softwares.
4. Provide training material for the application of the published literature for Technical Department use.
5. Design & Development of Calculation Models & Applications for the use of design in the organisations products.
6. Design & Development of Experiments to verify the Analytical Solutions.
7. Design, model and draft the organisations products using parametric software
8. Prepare heat load calculation, selection of components, pipe sizing/routing, positioning of components for the various products & applications
9. Ensure the team prepares detail drafting of the product
10. Verify if the drafting is consistent with the drafting standards
11. Coordinate with technical team for the design, selection of components and BOM preparation for costing for the enquiries
12. Develop shop drawings for production
13. Assist the production team during manufacturing of the product to ensure the product meets design standards and parameters
14. Analyze the performance as per industrial standards & international standards
15. Revise and develop final drawings and BOM after the test results in the factory
16. Finalize the die design, template design and the jigs and fixtures design for the manufacturing process of the new product
17. Review and standardize the Bill of Materials for the product
18. Verify the changes in the cost of the components in Bill of Material
19. Update and amend the changes in cost in the Bill of Materials and on approval from the superior; forward the same to Commercial Department
20. Analyze and evaluate quotations from vendors and send to the superior for approval for finalizing the vendor
21. Ensure adherence to the department budget
22. Work on quality of designs; reduce failure rate and ensure manufacturability of designs
23. Identify current market trends, collect feedback from customers, service team and incorporate the same into future designs
Quality Assurance
1. Develop and modify QAP(Quality Assurance Plan) as per the product and organiztaions need
2. Coordinate and ensure timley approval of the QAP and Drawings from the Industrial Consultants based on the Project requirements
3. Verify and ensure correctness of all the documents (BOM, drawings and technical specifications)
4. Interact with quality department to meet companys quality objectives
5. Ensure proper compliance of AS:9100D & ISO 9001:2015 guidelines
Support Sales and Service Team
1. Support the Sales and Customer support team in responding to customer enquires
2. Co-ordinate with Purchase department to obtain cost of spares and other components as per the customer requirements
Prepare and review technical specification sheet, cost estimation and concept or schematic drawings whenever required and submit the same to sales support team
Knowledge Management
Maintain the knowledge management system which classifies, indexes and stores the drawings, design specifications, calculations, product details etc. in way that data retrieval is easier and faster
Training
1. Provide engineering and technical support to the Technical, Sales and Service team
2. Conduct periodic technical training and knowledge sharing sessions within the team to share best practices and enhance knowledge capital for the department
People Management
1. Support and train the team on various skills required
2. Mentor the subordinates to handle greater responsibilities
Motivate and train the team to handle higher responsibilities by providing off the job and on the job training
MIS
1. Prepare and submit a daily / weekly/monthly report to the superior on the:
Status of design
Status of enhancements to existing product designs
Status of Work based on WBS
Weekly Plan based on WBS
Status of Project / Program

Job Specifications (Profile, Knowledge & Skills)
1. Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical)/Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical)
2. 5 + years of experience in planning, drafting, designing, designing and project execution.
3. Should have experience in leading a team
4. Good knowledge of CAD / CAM / Analytical Softwares
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. Strong planning and organising skills
7. Strong analytical and problem solving skills
8. Proactive, highly energetic and self-driven
9. Ability to work under pressure
