Job Description :

Asteria Aerospace is looking for a senior design engineer passionate about bringing innovative products into the market in the cutting-edge field of unmanned systems. You will get to work with a multi-disciplinary team at the intersection of robotics and aerospace while interacting with product, engineering, production, and customer support functions. You will design UAV products to meet customer requirements with sound engineering principles while ensuring quality, reliability, and safety of designs.

Specific Responsibilities :

- Design of UAV components and assemblies keeping in mind product requirements and design principles for manufacturing, assembly, and repair

- Analyze structures - composite/metal/plastic/other using engineering principles and FEA to ensure that all requirements with respect to loads, weight, operating environment are met

- Perform DFM/DFA, DFMEA, PFMEA to ensure robust design

- Test and verify UAV mechanical components against requirements and design.

- Document technical requirements, design reports, analysis reports for UAV components and assemblies.

- Drive continuous process improvement in design activities and workflow. Actively seek ways to improve business processes and interactions. Be responsible for guiding and promoting design engineering excellence

- Ensure product and process compliance to customer and ISO 9001 requirements.

- Mentor other engineers in the design team and participate in cross-functional design reviews.

- Work with multi-disciplinary internal team and external vendors to identify and develop breakthrough capabilities.

- Monitor functional level KRAs and KPIs and find ways to actively improve the same

- Actively participate as single point of contact for one or more development projects

- Investigate non-compliances in product design for root cause and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications : B.E./B.Tech in aerospace/mechanical or relevant engineering field

Relevant Experience : 4 to 6 years of experience in designing products in robotics, aerospace, automobile, medical or other relevant industry.

Desired Skills & Characteristics :

- Experience in end-to-end product development lifecycle from ideation to support

- 4+ years of experience in SolidWorks CAD or similar tool

- Design analysis experience using industry standard simulation tools

- Strong knowledge of materials, material properties, and manufacturing processes in metals/plastics/composites

- Strong knowledge in packaging methodologies and materials

- Must be creative and able to develop new approaches to complex design problems.

- Keen attention to detail

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Experience in quality standards such as ISO 9001 or equivalent
