BU Quality Head - Auto Industry (8-15 yrs)

Responsible for ensuring that BU adopts quality management systems that allows it to meet demanding cutsomer requirements. Lead a team of highly skilled professionals to achieve best practice quality systems. Provide leadership to allow BU to achieve a long term Quality Assurance vision
Area Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities Role Specifications :
- Educational Qualification : Bachelor's degree in Engineering with experience in Quality Management
- Years/type of experience : At least 8+ years of experience in product designing and product quality planning in an automotive or auto component industry
Technical Skills/Knowledge :
- Experience with manufacturing processes such as; Lean, Kaizen, Kanban, 5C, 5S and TPM
- Expertise in relevant materials fabrication equipment/ techniques
- DFM, DOE experience with understanding of statistical methods
- Expertise in SolidWorks
- Knowledge of TS 16949 process
- Experience in leading quality audits
- Language : Can communicate in English
Quality Management :
People responsibilities :
1. Assume budgetary and managerial responsibility for Quality Assurance and Quality Control function within the BU
2. Initiate and implement quality improvement activities as appropriate to raise the performance of the company's product lines
3. Develop, implements, manages and integrates a QMS for manufacturing plant
4. Support concurrent engineering efforts by participating in design development projects representing quality assurance and the customer
5. Ensure that Quality team is working seamlessly with R&D team for new component development, identifying alternative raw materials, tooling requirements, test plans and product qualification requirements
6. Design, implement and documents procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection
7. Serve as the primary point of contact for quality control with respect to problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement
8. Establish and implements metrics (process capability, control charts, measurement quality) for monitoring system effectiveness and to enable managers to make sound product quality decisions
9. Analyse all CAPA data and root cause analysis data and other problem solving activities to ensure that corrective actions and process improvements are planned in the right direction
10. Establish collection and analysis systems of statistical data to predict trends that will affect improvement of product quality
11. Monitor vendor performance and establish criteria and rating system for critical vendors
12. Review all vendor qualification and compliance audits and ensure that any discrepancy identified is properly accounted for
1. Responsible for development of team members by undertaking regular performance discussion, coaching and mentoring
2. Assess performance of direct reports and provide them with developmental feedback. Use performance data to develop a successor for the role
