Buyer - Material Procurement/Material Requirement Planning (4-6 yrs)
work location is chennai - should be work in shifts
Experience in Interacting/Handling Global Customers is a must
Job Description :
- Purchasing BOM materials in time to meet production requirements.
- Update suppliers with forecasts and plan to ensure timely delivery.
- Update core data and vendor details in SAP
- Handle MRP Exceptions (Expedite, Defer & Cancel) & Overdue
- Timely Release of POs as per MRP recommendations.
- Overdue monitoring, Schedule & Unscheduled follow up with suppliers.
- Working with supplier to manage NCRs and communicate ECO changes.
- Tracking of shipments & deliveries
- Ensure MSDS are supplied during purchase of chemicals/oils etc.
- Ensure blacklisted materials are not procured.
- Ensure adherence of safety procedures while engaging external contractors for any work inside Vestas premises.
- Timely procurement of miscellaneous items.
- Handle Invoice discrepancies through systems like SAP work flow / IEDA / IRENE
Primary Skills:
"Purchasing of direct materials, experienced in procurement from Manufacturing / Automotive / Wind Sector industries SAP Exposure"
Secondary Skills:
Know the value chain
- The engineer (preferably B.E - Mechanical- graduate)should have excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Should have experience in handling any of the mechanical commodities like Forging, Casting, Machined parts, Sheet metal, fabricated parts, Plastic etc.
- Should have work experience from core mechanical industries like Automobile, Industrial Valves, pumps etc.,
- He should be a tactical buyer and Should have experience in expediting & getting material from Suppliers
- Knowledge on Material Requirement Planning (MRP) is a must
- He should be a problem solver and need to be smart enough to handle challenges
- Support will be in shifts as per their allocation to factories across the globe
- Relevant experience of 2-3 years is necessary
