Designation: Calibration Manager

Location: Muscat-Oman

Report to: AGM Calibration

Dept: Calibration Laboratory

Eligibility Criteria :

- Must be a BE / B. Tech in Electrical or Electronic & communications

- Must have managed Calibration Lab for at least 5 Years, overall experience 8 to 10 Years

- Familiar with ISO 17025 Calibration Quality System Requirements and certifications.

Summary :

The Calibration Manager will be responsible for managing the calibration lab to run it as a profitable business segment. He shall have experience and demonstrated skills and abilities as listed below.

Essential skills & attributes :

- Experience in managing calibration personnel

- Developing and writing procedures

- Knowledge of statistics and the ability to apply them in developing and documenting test or calibration uncertainty budgets

- Troubleshooting techniques

- Calibration Lab Assets management.

- Using Windows, word processing, spreadsheet and database software, MS - PowerPoint, Calibration work flow software etc

- Ability to train Calibration technicians on concepts, new process, industry process etc

- Managing quality control programs

- Full knowledge on Electronic, Electrical, Instrumentation and physical/dimensional calibrations and calibration traceability

- Metrology laboratory practices and calibration data collection, familiarity of RIG calibration, Energy Meter calibration, CT/VT Electrical Testing etc- is also essential.

- Answering customer calibration questions/ ability to device cal process for new customer requirements.

- Preparing calibration reports and certificates

- Monitor Sales, develop new services, product to constantly bring revenue growth

- Constantly evaluate internal processes to reduce cost

- Drop or change routines to improve effectiveness & efficiency and cost of operations

- Maintain Lab safety, security of assets and staff.

Responsibilities :

- Supervise calibration department staff. Planning, organizing, and monitoring calibration assignments and ensuring work expectations for scope, schedule, cost and responsiveness.

- Coordinate the training of technical staff.

- Monitor daily attendance, activities, Sales & billing to ensure target commitment.

- Work flow/priority management.

- Employee Performance Evaluations.

- Maintain ISO 17025 Calibration Quality System Requirements.

- Administrate monthly random uncertainty testing.

- Proficiency testing.

- Issue corrective actions as outlined in 17025.

- Increase through-put of calibration department.

- Consistently align procedures vs. actual processes.

- Develop new test procedures, establish template calibration certificates, and implement the control of all documents as part of the QMS.

- Develop a master list of all calibration equipment necessary for standard calibration station.

- Eliminate unnecessary/redundant tests with AGM approval.

- Provide data feedback to AGM to improve robustness and cycle time of products.

- Develop current state/future state for calibration department.

- Continuously improve on-time delivery to 100% for internal/external customers by reducing test/calibration time.

- Perform random audits of finished goods.

Salary package will be :

- Basic Salary PM & Allowances PM + HRA PM + car facility + medical and insurance + annual passage (30 days leave salary and economy class flight ticket to and fro)

- Visa will be on family status if married.

- Family includes wife & 2 children below the age of 18 who will get visa and flight ticket to join the candidate in Muscat.

- Family will also get medical & insurance from the company with flight ticket on vacation
