JOB PURPOSE: To provide technical direction and support for the development new sources for approved raw materials, regular audit of the approved suppliers as per the audit plan, preparation and upgradation of existing raw material specifications, preparation and upgradation of raw material test procedures, regular release of list of approved raw material suppliers

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. PROCESS :

- Identification and development of law cost sources for existing raw materials.

- Maintaining the supplier portal system as per the requirement of Technology

- Preparation of material quality data for identified raw materials and sources.

- Regular interaction and feedback to the suppliers for improvements.

- Preparation and issue of raw material specifications and test procedures and its upgradation.

- Preparation and issue of approved supplier list as per the system requirement.

- Ensure accomplishment of projected cost savings through new raw material source development.

2. SYSTEM:

- Compliance to raw material supplier portal system.

- Auditing of the new raw material suppliers for approvals.

- Auditing of all the raw material suppliers as per the annual audit plan.

- Control of raw material specifications, raw material test procedures & and approved supplier list.

3. TECHNICAL & QUALITY :

- Provide technical know-how and inputs related to raw materials to all the plants and sourcing locations.

- Regular interaction with plants and suppliers to monitor performance and quality upgradation of raw materials.

- Identify the developmental activities happening in different raw materials in the industry level and incorporate that in to CEAT system.

COMPETENCIES - Good understanding about all the raw materials and its evaluation procedures in Tyre Manufacturing process (Advanced) (Know-how on tyre compounding and reinforcement technology, raw material properties and test procedures for ensuring raw material quality requirements.)

(Technical knowhow in tyre designs, production processes, systems, layout plans and quality measures).

QUALIFICATION : B.E. Chemical Engg. / B.Tech ( Rubber Technology) / Post Graduation in Chemistry

EXPERIENCE : 5-7 yrs yrs in compounding / mixing in tyre industry.
