CFS Incharge - Import/Export (12-15 yrs)
Job Objective :
Monitor the progress and smooth functioning of operations in all areas in CFS
Roles and Responsibilities:
Strategic Roles & Responsibilities:
Monitor the progress of operations in all areas in CFS-stripping, stuffing, examination, delivery, car compound and the Bureau of Customs Holding areas. Ensure that the work plan and its changes are implemented by the Superintendent. See to it that the productivity target per gang per shift is achieved in each area. Maximize the utilization of manpower and equipment. Coordinate with other sections for smooth flow of operation.
Operational Responsibilities:
Customs Co-Ordination: This comprises of all activities related to customs and its special agencies like SIIB, DRI, and DIU
Attending Meetings Convened By NACFS: NACFS calls for periodical meetings to discuss urgent matters that are of common interest.
Operations At CFS: Managing and supervising staff, guiding them, wherever required & training them wherever need be.
Coordinating export and import activities
Monitoring and checking job performance of staff
Customs co- ordination, communication and posing matters.
Un-cleared Cargo Cell:
For auctioning of Dispatching first and second Sec- 48 notices to delaying clients
Getting clearance from the required customs departments
Enabling abandoned cargoes by customs
Bill Checking:
Labour bill checking and signing.
Security bill checking and signing.
Transport bill checking and signing.
Housekeeping bill checking and signing
Canteen bill checking and signing
Accounting Department Related:
Collection of outstanding receipts, correspondence with clients, issue of debits and credit and guiding the billing staff, wherever needed
Shut Out Cargo: Checking of shut out document and giving permission for delivery
Transports Bill Checking: To assure that no container is double billed or overcharged by the transporter.
Yard Maintenance:
To ensure that the yard is clean and devoid of unwanted packing materials like pallets, cut seals etc.
To ensure that containers have been arranged properly, i.e.no water stagnation, container standing an all four legs etc.
To ensure that the warehouses are clean without material being strewn around.
That the warehouse floor is devoid of oil, Greece etc.
Weigh Bridge: To periodically paint / service / stamp the weigh bridge. To ensure as to whether the printer attached to weighbridge function properly.
Grievance Redressal: CHA, Importer, Exporter, Staff, Operators, Drivers, Security, Labor and that of custom as for facilities provided at the CFS.
Preparation Of Staff Shift List: It is weekly list for the staff work in shift basis
Attending Meetings: Called for by NACFS, Transport associations, CCHA, Liners, CHENSAA, and Trade meet etc.
Voucher Signing / Checking:
To ensure that no unwanted vouchers are raised.
To control entire operational cost of the company
Labour Management:
Man power planning, allocation of man power between import, export and bonding activities.
People Management Managing labour and solving problem.
