Chief Engineer - Project Management/Design/Construction (13-20 yrs)
The chief engineer will be working on project management, design and construction and run team of individuals.
Paramount to success within this varied role will include :
Overall management of the mill site utilities and engineering programme. Coordinate, direct and supervise the supervision of staff activities. Carefully analyze the plan, specification and also examine the entire area of the proposed job site. Make himself familiar with the contractor's plan of operation and scheduled progress. Promote a team spirit within the site organization including the contractor's staff with the common goal of completion of the work with no cost and time over runs. Reviews engineering designs for neatness and accuracy. Directs engineering personnel in formulating plans, designs, cost estimates, and specifications for oil tanks, pipeline, civil construction, maintenance and modernization programs. Additional assignments and responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Mill Head. To comply and adhere to all matters pertaining to the quality, safety and health and environmental requirement related to the job scope and work place as required by the company and governmental regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Arrange meetings with concerned parties such as Div. Heads of Civil, Electrical, Instrumental, Mechanical and regional authority concerning, services relocation, diversions, programming and right of way issues, aiming to solve the problem appropriately.
2. Maintain a register of all engineering drawing issued, including amendments, identifications of each amendment, so that at a later date it shall be possible to establish the effective date of each drawing.
3. Keep himself update with all changes in contractor's plan and programming. and report all changes to the employer.
4. In the event that the contractor is not making satisfactory progress, shall notify the employer accordingly and have his evaluation of the situation in order that appropriate action may be taken.
5. Responsible for all official activities of his mandates.
6. Instruct personnel to adequately perform their assigned tasks and to assist in training them for them effective performance.
7. Advice the contractor to use the appropriate equipment, material and competent staff for all activities.
8. Ensure proper quality control procedures are followed in sampling and testing materials.
9. Keep records, daily diary, books plans and other drawings, including - As Built- drawings and accidents well detailed and supported by pictures.
10. Responsible for preparing progress report, check, review and submit all other relevant reports.
11. Directs activities of engineering department: Apportions work among engineering staff according to specialize training.
12. Supervises engineering office workers, computing operating budgets, compiling reports and conducting special investigations and studies to evaluate efficiency of engineering programs.
AUTHORITIES:
- Review purchase, spare parts inventory.
- Review of contractors, manpower, requirements, etc.
- To approve leave and overtime of all staff.
- Report violation.
- SAP approval.
- Distribute work to site team.
