Chief Operating Officer - Aerospace/Turbines/Large Motors Industry (15-20 yrs)
We are looking for Chief Operating Officer from either Aerospace Industry, Project Management companies, Turbines or from Large Motors as our client is in the Aerospace space .They have been in the aerospace business from the past 40 years in Hyderabad
Purpose
- Provide Leadership in building a Manufacturing Organization (processes, people, production facilities, efficiencies, improvement culture etc) commensurate for achieving growth targets
- Help Organization scale up
Strategic
- Run Operations as a Profit Centre
- Sustain Client image as a trusted vendor for their current client base and improve on it
Operational
- Oversee full gamut of tasks involved in converting a Customer Drawing into a Product - namely, process planning, material planning, procurement, PPC, production, maintenance, customer inspection, dispatch etc)
- Establish procedures, SOPs and ensure adherence
- Establish norms for and improve productivity - leading to improved performance on delivery & quality parameters
- Establish a culture of continuous improvement - and lead the team on that path
- Audit current status of safety, occupational health, environment; plan and implement programmes for their improvement
- Plan up-gradation / replacement of equipment after establishing the financial attractiveness; support Procurement, installation & commissioning of such equipment
- Build a competent, performance-driven team; implement training in line with plans for their skills upgradation and development
- Build a strong MIS system in the organization for management reporting as well as departmental reporting to allow scalability of operations that is system driven vs person driven.
Tactical
- Establish a direct channel of communication with his team - starting with himself to all the workmen - listen & address their issues
- Establish good relations with the Government functionaries that have touch points with Factory working
- Prepared to work under pressure which may required long working and ensuring that this pressure does not impact self, or impact people under him.
TOP KRA
Improve OTIF (on time in full) over next 2 years through improved materials planning & procurement and PPC
Number of projects initiated and implemented for improving overall delivery performance; productivity; quality etc
Anticipate and correct likely operational constraints (related to production capacity, workers, vendors and others) to ensure deliveries of product
Retention of people - =95%
Relevant Experience
- Should have overseen manufacturing for either turbines, large motors, or other precision components that go to defense research establishments in india or overseas
- Should have played similar role in a previous organization - 50 crore company
- Should have handled atleast one scale up in such an organization either to meet increased business or to meet newer businesses that the organization has venture into
