Position: Chief Signalling Design Officer

A. Position Overview:

As the Chief Signalling Design Officer, you will lead our signalling design team and oversee the development and implementation of advanced signalling systems for railway projects. This critical role requires a deep understanding of railway signalling principles, technology, and regulations to ensure the safe and efficient operation of rail networks.

B. Key Responsibilities:

1. Build and lead high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.

2. Develop talent pipelines and succession plans to support organizational growth.

3. Develop and implement strategic direction for signalling design services, aligning with industry standards and best practices.

4. Lead and manage a team of signalling design engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and subject matter expertise.

5. Oversee signalling design projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, timeline, and budgetary requirements.

6. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in railway signalling systems, fostering innovation within the team, and exploring new solutions where feasible.

7. Ensure all signalling designs comply with relevant railway standards, regulations, and safety protocols.

8. Collaborate closely with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to understand project requirements and address technical challenges effectively.

9. Implement robust quality assurance processes to verify the accuracy and reliability of signalling designs.

10. Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with signalling design activities, ensuring proactive resolution of issues.

11. Manage the budget for signalling design projects, optimizing resource allocation and cost-effectiveness.

12. Prepare decks on signalling products, services, and solutions and present to potential clients and partners.

13. Guide and facilitate IRSE licensing for internal design engineers.

14. Ensure data and information security guidelines are adhered to, based on the policies defined, and also as per GDPR.

15. Be a catalyst to continually, incrementally, and innovatively improve on the process efficiency, level of automation, productivity level, competitiveness, client engagement, cost reduction, and client and employee retention.

16. Deliver exceptional client experiences by focusing on a customer-centric culture.

17. Uphold high standards of corporate governance, ethics, and integrity.

18. Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and responsible business practices.

19. Identify and mitigate risks related to operations, regulations, and market dynamics.

20. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements at an engagement level.

21. Implement effective risk management strategies to protect the company's interests.

22. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and achieve business goals.

23. Prepare budget, forecasts, and track, monitor, and report on the progress.

24. Proactively support the initiatives of the company in development of new technologies, products, service offerings, solutions, and exploratory brainstorming.

C. Required Skills and Qualifications:

1 Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.

2 Extensive experience (20+ years) in railway signalling design, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.

3 In-depth knowledge of signalling principles, systems, and technologies (e.g., ETCS, CBTC, interlocking systems).

4 Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a technical team.

5 Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.

6 Sound understanding of railway safety standards, regulations, and compliance requirements across geographies.

7 Proficiency in relevant signalling design software and tools.

8 Strategic thinker with the ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.

D. Preferred Qualifications:

1 Professional certification in railway signalling (e.g., IRSE License) is highly desirable.

2 Experience working with large-scale railway infrastructure projects.

3 Prior experience in a managerial or leadership role within the railway signalling domain.
