Civil Engineer - Biogas Plant (5-8 yrs)
Key Responsibilities :
Project Management and Leadership :
- Provide leadership and direction to a team of civil engineers, technicians, and other construction personnel.
- Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Manage project risks and ensure timely project completion within budget constraints.
- Motivate and mentor team members to achieve their full potential.
- Delegate tasks effectively and provide clear instructions.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
Project Planning & Execution :
- Actively participate in the planning and execution of all phases of biogas plant projects, including site surveys, feasibility studies, design, construction, and commissioning.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for biogas plant components such as digesters, gas holders, piping networks, and slurry handling systems.
- Oversee the procurement of construction materials, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
- Manage and supervise on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and project timelines.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Conduct quality control inspections throughout the construction process.
Design & Engineering :
- Design and optimize biogas plant layouts based on site-specific conditions, client requirements, and engineering principles.
- Perform hydraulic and structural calculations for various components of the biogas plant.
- Select appropriate materials and equipment for biogas plant construction, considering factors such as cost, durability, and performance.
- Develop and implement innovative design solutions to improve biogas plant efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting :
- Provide technical support for the operation and maintenance of existing biogas plants.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to biogas plant operation, such as gas leakage, reduced gas production, and slurry handling problems.
- Conduct periodic inspections and maintenance of biogas plants to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Provide training to plant operators on proper operation and maintenance procedures.
Client Management & Communication :
- Maintain effective communication with clients, project stakeholders, and team members.
- Present project progress reports and address client concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to foster long-term partnerships.
Research & Development :
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in biogas technology and industry best practices.
- Conduct research and development activities to improve biogas plant design, construction, and operation.
- Explore and implement innovative technologies to enhance biogas plant performance and sustainability.
Safety & Environmental Compliance :
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Implement and monitor safety protocols on construction sites.
- Minimize the environmental impact of biogas plant construction and operation.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
- 5+ years of professional experience in the design, construction, and maintenance of biogas plants, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, including structural design, hydraulics, geotechnical engineering, and construction materials.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other relevant design software.
- Excellent project management, leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with renewable energy technologies, particularly biogas.
