Civil Head - Construction Project (5-11 yrs)
Roles and responsibilities :
Performs tasks to support engineering functions including but not limited to
- Supervise team of civil & structural engineers and draftsmen;
- Supervise preparation of plant layouts;
- Prepare in-house drawings and technical specifications for civil works;
- Estimate construction costs;
- Review of vendor designs and drawings;
- Field Inspections of steel fabrication;
- Land selection support decisions;
- Engineering innovations
- Resolution of construction queries from site and visit the sites whenever required
- Maintaining project engineering records; and
- Mentoring of subordinates
General requirement :
- Sound in design knowledge in areas of solar plant layouts, MMS, Transmission Tower Structural design, main control room, prefab structures & general civil requirements of large scale solar power plants
- Structural foundation design for control room foundation footings, substation equipment foundation footings like CT, PT, Isolator & Lightening arrestor, Power transformer foundation design, cable trench design, Cable trench support design.
- Developing StaadPro and design Reports
- Knowledge of solar module mounting structure (MMS) design, identification of right material according to the project specification as per the standards guidelines.
- In depth knowledge in solar ground mounted PV projects MMS design, rooftop projects MMS design.
- Review & approval of design calculation, drawings, etc.
- Foundation design for control room foundation footings, substation equipment foundation footings, Power transformer foundation design, cable trench design, Cable trench support design.
- Sound knowledge in developing civil/structural specifications.
- Vendor Management, detailed project BOQ for the civil area
- Extensive coordination with site team
- Regular site visits for resolution of technical queries
- Software skills like Autocad, Staadpro (mandatory) and MS office, solidworks, 3D MAX, MAYA (optional)
Qualification and educational requirements :
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil engineering from institute of repute
- Master's Degree in goetech/structure preferred
- 5- 10 years of industry experience
- Experience in solar plant design preferred
- Knowledge of IS codes and industry practices
