CNC Machinist/Programmer (3-5 yrs)
About the Job :
Superior Group is hiring a CNC Programmer for our customer, a global manufacturing of hydraulic pumps and systems. This direct hire opportunity, located in Buffalo, NY, will require you to program CNC machinery that automatically mills, punches, frills, broaches or beams metal parts. Specifically, you will be responsible for:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Build machined precision components and assembles as assigned
- Make adjustments to machine to adhere to establishes specifications or to correct faulty programming
- Consult product or project blue prints and technical data sheets as required
- Conceptualize and design production parts or other machines components
- Make general decisions as to quality, tolerances and operation sequences
- Review, organize, and prioritize manufacturing steps for all assigned projects
- Specify and secure materials required for projects, or forward requests for required materials to the Design Engineer for acquisition
- Verify that all products conform to customer or company expectations for fit, form and function
- Perform detailed quality inspections as required to ensure production meets expectations
- Perform all paperwork and documentation as required
- Perform preventative equipment maintenance as assigned
Required Skills/Qualifications :
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of CNC programming experience in a machine shop, capable of using conventional and G Code Mill controllers
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal follow up supervision
- Observant, attentive to detail, and quality conscious
- Above average math, reasoning and problem solving skills
- Practical experience with precision measuring devices such as calipers and micrometers
