Commodity Analyst (3-9 yrs)
Key Responsibilities :
- Maintaining dashboards for project Execution & Strategy Implementation Updates from Global Team for assigned commodities
- Responsible for Accurate Category Taxonomies
- Manage Preparation for Request for Quote (RFQ)/ competitive bidding process
- Market Trend and Pricing Analysis
- Ability to develop basic understanding of assigned commodities, including but not limited to current market conditions, key cost drivers, global supply base, and industry terminology
- Responsible for maintaining spend cubes and taxonomy for all SKUs in Assigned categories
- Responsible for accurate reporting of metrics like Cost Savings, DPO, Consignment/ VMI, Supplier Score Cards and other analytics
- Develop and manage the business relationship between Hardinge and its Suppliers of the assigned commodity(ies)/suppliers, within our Global Strategic Sourcing organization (contract negotiations, supplier issue resolution, performance management, supplier cost reductions, purchase order creation, and management)
- Develop and implement sourcing strategy for assigned commodities and suppliers (sourcing execution and supplier selection)
- Evaluate suppliers on cost, quality, delivery, and other information to determine the viability of suppliers
- Forecast Financials on a monthly basis and identify, develop and execute projects for your assigned commodity(ies)
- Support various internal stake holder's needs (like Engineering & Technology, Product Development, Marketing, etc.) needs within assigned commodity(ies)
- Perform global sourcing read-across, leveraging and supporting the Global Strategic Sourcing Refresh and Global Commodity Management Analytics initiatives.
- Create additional savings opportunities, Free Cash Flow, and Productivity value through data analytics, structural cost reduction, and quick-wins opportunities identification.
- Take initiative on developing processes for effective data analysis and reporting. Transform raw data into business insights. Produce understandable and actionable reports gathered from data, interpret data and report data findings.
- Keep up on data industry and raw materials trends
- Provide direction for a team of data analysts and associates; oversee the work of the team to ensure its accuracy.
- Drive and influence the organization to take actions or create initiatives based on analytics output, beyond savings opportunities.
Skills :
- Proficient in MS Excel, VBA Macros and Application Development
- Proficient in MS PowerPoint to submit Weekly & Monthly
- MS Access Database Development & Maintenance experience (Desired)
Experience & Education :
- Bachelors in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering
- Sourcing Analysts ( Less than 6 Years- Experience) / Senior Analysts (less than 10 years- experience)
- Certifications like CPIM, CPSM or similar ones are highly desirable
- Experience with several mechanical manufacturing Processes is required, such as: machining, sand casting, die casting, investment casting, fabricated sheet metal, stamping, mechanical assemblies, value-add assemblies and/or injection molding.
- Previous experience in one or more of these is required: dealing with suppliers, supply chain, manufacturing process re-design, PPAP process documentation, implementing process or design changes with support from cross functional teams.
- Experience in design, DFM, VA/VE, cost-out, or lean six sigma is required
