Our client, a leading consulting firm, is seeking a Cost Reduction Consultant in the power consumption space to drive energy efficiency initiatives and reduce power consumption costs for the client's operations. The ideal consultant will be an energy management or process optimization professional with hands-on experience in energy audits, utility cost management, and implementing cost-saving measures. They must demonstrate a proven track record in reducing power consumption costs, optimizing industrial or commercial processes, and leveraging energy-saving technologies. Expertise in lean manufacturing, automation, and alternative energy solutions will be a key differentiator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead power consumption cost reduction initiatives by conducting energy audits, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing optimization strategies across facilities.
- Analyze energy usage data, utility bills, and operational processes to pinpoint opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Develop and implement energy-saving measures, including process optimization, equipment upgrades, and integration of alternative energy solutions (e.g., solar, wind, or energy recovery systems).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and procurement, to design and execute sustainable energy management strategies.
- Utilize lean manufacturing principles and automation technologies to minimize energy waste and enhance operational efficiency.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses and market benchmarking to ensure competitive utility pricing and alignment with industry best practices.
- Manage relationships with utility providers and energy solution vendors to secure cost-effective contracts and ensure reliable service delivery.
- Provide regular performance reports, actionable insights, and updates to senior stakeholders and business leaders on energy savings and cost reduction outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Energy Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 5- 12 years of experience in energy efficiency, power consumption cost reduction, or process optimization (flexibility of +/-1- 2 years may be considered).
- Prior experience in industrial or commercial operations with a focus on energy audits and cost-saving initiatives is highly preferred.
- Strong expertise in energy management, utility cost analysis, and implementation of energy-saving technologies across any industry.
- In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing, automation, and alternative energy solutions
- Proficiency in data analysis, cost modeling, with a focus on driving measurable results.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with a results-oriented mindset.
This is a 6-month (extendable) contractual opportunity based in Chennai.
