Job Description :

- The Drone Design Mechanical Designer role is for someone that is seasoned; you have honed the craft of not just designing solutions and delivering products - but making them high performance, durable, and, light.

Skill Sets :

- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years experience in the industry.

- Strong part and assembly design experience showing optimization for stiffness and low mass.

- Expertise with Solid works 3D modeling, drawing, and simulation software is strongly preferred.

- Demonstrated a strong record of technical innovation, research, and development of complex mechanical systems.

- Must have strong analytical skills with demonstrated experience in technologies that can be successfully applied to drone developments

- Experience with PDM tools and understanding of revision control practices

- Excellent verbal, written, collaboration and interpersonal communication skills

Roles and Responsibilities :

- Ability to define mechanical solutions and system performance requirements.

- Be a key part of the team working on payload design, in-market design improvements, and new product components that are designed for lifetime reliability and in-market success.

- Utilize your experience with lightweight structural design and materials to design key components and structures for our current generation UAS requirements.

- Optimize for aerodynamic profiles and efficiencies (we consider this a huge asset).

- Utilize FEA, DOE, and rapid prototyping to design products for durability, performance and manufacturing quality.

- Deliver market-leading designs with principle DFM methods and techniques.

- Create and control design data from concept to product sustainment.

- Be able to sustain technical innovation and fulfil commercial commitments.
