Vendor Development Manager

Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vendor Development Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in building vendor networks from scratch, particularly in start-up environments, and possesses a strategic mindset for developing vendor relationships. This role requires a deep understanding of the MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) ecosystem in India.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Build Vendor Network: Spearhead the establishment of a comprehensive vendor network from ground zero in a start-up environment, driving growth from 0 to 1. Utilize your expertise to identify, evaluate, and onboard vendors who align with the company's requirements and standards.

2. Strategic Development: Develop and implement strategic plans for expanding and optimizing the vendor network. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify vendor needs and capabilities, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

3. MSME Ecosystem Expertise: Possess in-depth knowledge of the MSME ecosystem in India, including regulatory requirements, market trends, and potential challenges. Leverage this understanding to navigate and capitalize on opportunities within the vendor landscape.

4. Vendor Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential vendors. Act as the primary point of contact, addressing vendor inquiries, negotiating contracts, and resolving any issues that may arise. Foster a collaborative and mutually beneficial partnership between the company and its vendors.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

- Proven experience (6+ years) in vendor development and management, particularly in start-up environments.

- Demonstrated success in building vendor networks from scratch and driving growth initiatives.

- Strong understanding of the MSME ecosystem in India, including regulatory frameworks and market dynamics.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

- Strategic thinker with the ability to identify opportunities and develop actionable plans.

- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving targets and objectives.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to evolving priorities.
