Job Objective :

- To ensure production of components/products in the section, as per the Production Plan, to meet the requirements of the customers. 

- Drive production improvement initiatives to ensure optimization of production from cost, quality and capacity utilization parameters keeping in view safety and environmental requirements.

Financial : Analyze and control all significant variances of capital and cost parameters and take corrective actions

Customer :

- Take inputs from PPC and Plant Head to get the update on customer requirements and discuss the production plan with shift in-charges

- Analyze and resolve all customer complaints related to Quality issues

Process :

- Administration of the smooth and efficient flow of the work in the entire soft section by suitable work distribution and monitoring execution.

- Ensure minimum production loss and achieve daily planned targets.

- Conduct Daily Monitoring of Tool room activities, Piercing & Blanking, Cold forging and Pin n bush forming. Closely observe all activities to ensure the best practices are followed and coordinate and collaborate with the section heads to get apprised of the difficulties and problems faced by them in meeting the production targets and productivity improvement.

- Attend to all Critical and Urgent problems in the line that affects the quality or productivity of the output and Attends Immediately to Customer Complaints by Identifying the zone or area of the defect, carrying out its Root Cause Analysis and taking necessary countermeasures to resolve the same

- Regularly Motivate and Inspire the entire staff and workforce in the section and ensure complete commitment and engagement with the work from them thereby enhancing productivity and establishing an environment of learning and development.

- Guides and ensures complete tool planning and execution as per the production plan. He also needs to develop and guide preventive maintenance technique of Press, Clod forging and Pin/ Bush tools.

- Implement efficient and effective internal control systems, to keep track of the performance of equipment and take necessary actions to improve efficiency in coordination with Maintenance Department

- Prepare daily and monthly MIS reports to match actual performance vis-a-vis the targets and provide action steps to minimize variance

- Plan & incorporate R&D modifications & new product initiatives in the production process

- Minimize scraps at various stages of the manufacturing process

- Lead implementation of key process improvement initiatives to be taken-up in TPM Excellence roadmap from time to time

- Take overall responsibility to ensure adherence to Safety standards by all employees and establish zero accident in the die-casting function

- Monitor indent raising and Purchase Department requests related to the die-casting function at the Plant

- Implement various business excellence techniques like Kaizen, 5S initiatives, etc

Learning & Development :

- Provide guidance, counselling and feedback to subordinates on their performance to ensure a motivated and committed team

- Nominate subordinates actively for the people development initiatives like training, workshops across the organization etc.

- Oversee employee relations to ensure harmonious labour relations in the section

Knowledge & Skills :

- Knowledge about the tool development & maintenance for high production rate press and cold forging operation.

- Hands-on working knowledge of High SPM Press operation and Cold forging operation.

- Knowledge about quality systems, six sigma, kaizen, etc

- Strong analytical skills

- Awareness of Inventory Management and Statistics
