Deputy General Manager - R&D - Paints/Chemicals (14-20 yrs)
Our client is a global leader in colour dispersions based out of Mumbai where they have a state of art facility in Navi Mumbai that includes ultra-modern office space, advanced R&D facility and a top notch highly engineered automated manufacturing plant. They aim to grow by 50% in the span of next 2 years. They need a focused approach on R&D to introduce new products and also improve the existing ones. They need a Deputy General Manager-R&D to head the R&D department.
Reporting into the MD of the organization and managing a team of 12 executives, 2 managers and one senior manager, you will be responsible for
- Satisfying all product development requests put on Technology by Sales & Marketing team or as identified by company
- Driving continuous quality up gradation process through changes in process, introduction of new raw materials or through changes in formulation
- Driving cost reduction exercise as per objectives set by company from time to time
- Interacting with QC and Production to understand quality of products processed. Work out quality improvement plan where ever required and implement the same
- Driving vendor development and new raw material introduction initiative jointly with Purchase department
- Scaling up and quality delivery of all lab formulations released to production
- Managing and safeguarding intellectual property of the company
Ideally you have a Masters/Phd and B.Tech in Paints/Polymers/Chemicals/Pigments and has 15+ years of experience in the Paints/Pigments/Chemicals/Polymers industry. You should be technically sound and provide innovative product ideas. Simultaneously, you should also have leadership skills and excellent communication skills.
