Job Description :

- CAD packaging of cockpit systems Switches like Steering wheel mounted controls, Cockpit controls, Floor console controls and Roof console controls,- Instrument Cluster, Fully automatic Temperature control- system

- Understand the requirement from Vehicle side in terms of carry over aggregates and new development of cockpit electronics aggregates if any.

- Carry out competition benchmarking, tear down analysis to explore different mounting strategies, manufacturing processes/ technologies, material etc.

- Conduct a packaging study by placing the aggregates in line with the CAS requirement.

- Create concept level CAD models at the concept freeze stage for packaging study.

- Provide technical solution in terms of customization of respective aggregates keeping the CAS same.

- Prepare proposals by modifying the CAS keeping the aggregates as carryover.

- Create design guidelines/packaging recommendations for mechanical integration for various cockpit electronics aggregates.

- Define Technical specifications & create technical requirements document for Mechanicals

- Create TALC (Touch, Appearance, Look & color) document and ensure maintenance during product lifecycle.

- Lead the packaging reviews with cross functional team and provide directional solutions.

- Conduct DFMEA for all mechanical related failure modes with supplier & TML cross functional teams.

- Define the Validation requirements (DVP) along with acceptance criteria considering the application.

- Review the mechanical design of respective aggregate with supplier before tool kick off; this includes component level DFMEA, Process controls, IQC, OQC check point etc.

- Kick off Proto sample development. Conduct vehicle fitment trials and inspection reports.

- Monitor the development timeline and participate in review meetings and escalations.

- Ensure 3D/2D drawing correctness and release in PLM within stipulated time.

- Follow tooling release for samples like A, B, C, D sample (T0, T1, T2) and provide feedback to supplier.

- Provide technical leadership on all phases of delivery like PP, MP etc.

- Ensure technical product documents and part/product related documents.

Preferred Skills & Knowledge :

- Expertise in software like Catia v5.

- Proven experience in design and development of plastic, switches, sheet metal etc.

- Good knowledge of material standards, new technologies in manufacturing domains etc.

- Knowledge & experience in DFMEA process

- Knowledge of GD&T

- Hands on experience on Product life cycle management system (PLM).

- Experience on mechanical assembly, packaging.

- Knowledge of Haptics, Aesthetics, Gap & Flushness of cockpit parts

- Knowledge of Illumination and Optics used in Cockpit parts

- Knowledge of Electronics parts ted products will be added advantage.

- Knowledge of Industrial design (surface design) will be added advantage.
