Design Support Engineer - VMTL Body Electronics (7-10 yrs)
Job Description :
- Specify, engineer and deliver Electrical and Electronic components, sub-systems and systems into vehicle.
- Evaluate concepts, features and alternative for system.
- Develop product specification along with COC, drawing and support PLM releases.
- Develop, agree and deliver test plan.
- Ensure part availability for all gateways.
- Responsible for delivery of components / systems meeting all targets and attributes (Cost, Quality, Time)
- Accountable for execution of all process activities to the program at all relevant gateways
- Technical project management from concept stage to production for E&E aggregates/ systems
- Coordinate and influence a CFT (Internal as well as external stakeholders) for delivery as per NPI time plan. Internal stakeholders include COC, Labcar, launch team, principle engineers etc.
- External Stakeholders include CE office, transmission, Engines, Body & Trims, Product Line, Chassis, Manufacturing, Styling, Technical Service, Customer Support, AQ and Vendors.
- Manage project cadence and ensure transparent communication and escalation through developing and maintaining module plan and meetings
- Tracking development across the product lifecycle
- Responsible for closure of Issues in TML online system
- Plan & support the prototype vehicle build for establishing the validation & reliability of E&E aggregates / systems.
Preferred Skills & Knowledge :
- Experience of project management
- Demonstrable experience of budget handling and target management
- Ability to interface and communicate at all levels
- Good knowledge of software releases and PLM system
- Experience of automotive electrical and electronics development
- Experience in design and development of one or more of above specified E&E aggregates & systems
- Knowledge of automotive electronic control systems Functional, design aspects, application & integration.
- Understanding of the functional and physical interactions between vehicle sub-systems.
- Should have basic understanding of various manufacturing Processes related to Software and electrical parts, End Of Line processes and diagnostic tool.
- Working knowledge of problem solving techniques and design optimization, Benchmarking, Warranty Analysis, Cost Reduction, Value Engg.
- Strong analytical skills. Excellent communication skills. Ability to lead the team to achieve the required functional / cost weight / timing & quality objectives.
- Awareness of 3D CAD packages such as CATIA V5, CAD data layouts, Digital Mock Ups (DMU), PLM
- Knowledge of all legislative standards(AIS) and new regulations.(CMVR, EEC, ECE,ADR, FMVSS etc).
- Knowledge about new technology and future trends in automotive vehicle.
- Basic Knowledge of Six Sigma and Quality Tools e.g. QFD, Trade-off etc.
