Job Title / Designation :

Designation : Deputy General Manager / General Manager Purchase Dept (including purchase quality)

Location : Ahmedabad

Essential Educational Qualification : Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering (from reputed University)

Preferred Educational Qualification :

a) PhD/Doctorate (from reputed University) OR

b) Master in Business Administration (from reputed Institute)

No. of years of Experience required:

Technical requirements/Key skills :

a) 15 years plus of working experience in purchasing field, holding or held purchase functions Head in Manufacturing companies

b) Material fields experience/Sources of purchasing : Castings/Steel/Forge/Plastic parts/Rubber parts/Assemblies/Solenoids/non-ferrous metals/Electro-mechanics

c) Experience with Quality systems

d) Negotiations with suppliers, price trends (India, Asia and worldwide) and result oriented purchase savings

e) Worked in leadership positions and strategic thinking

Soft skills/Additional skills :

a) Fantastic communication skills

b) Native languages: English, Hindi

c) Good to have: Gujarati, German languages

d) Experience in working with multi-cultural teams including International teams

e) Fantastic team player, emotionally intelligent

f) Networking skills and high social competency

Major Job Responsibilities :

- Responsible for all purchase of all material / contract activities.

Kindly Note : Logistics (including procurement) is a separate function and is not part of this role.

- Establish second source for all top material fields/critical components

- Define supplier strategy from India and specific material field approach, for India entity requirements as well as for sourcing requirements for Group's worldwide purchase network
