DGM - Quality Assurance - Food Manufacturing (12-15 yrs)
Looking for a Quality Assurance Professional to lead overall Quality Assurance and processes by closely coordinating with the Manufacturing Operations, R&D and Procurement for a Food Manufacturing client
Experience & Education:
1. University degree majoring in food industry;
2. M. Sc / M. Tech / Food Technology/Dairy Chemistry/Dairy Technology/ Microbiology
3. 12-14 years- experience in food industry; 4-5 years- QA experience in dairy/non-dairy industry;
4. Must have handled leadership roles for substantial period
5. Be familiar with ISO22000 / QMS / any other renowned Quality System;
6. Be familiar with India food industry, understand rules/regulations on food
Responsibilities:
1. Daily Operations:
- Quality control and analysis/ decision on incoming raw materials, packaging material, WIP and finished products;
- Control & check on testing equipment for production process parameters;
- Co-ordinate QA related activities;
- Should be conversant with testing protocols & instruments used for testing of Raw Materials, Packaging Materials and Finished Goods.
- Co-ordinate with production, procurement and logistics to ensure that all products are produced in line with QA process and requirement;
2. Food Regulations:
- To keep on updating various rules and regulations and ensure the compliances
3. Product Standards:
- Improve and update product standard
- High quality standards of finished product.
- Minimizing product & process deviation
- Minimizing customer complaints
- Improvement in Monthly QA Capability and Quality Rating indices
- Ensure that production is in line with standard and make rectifications when there is incompliance;
- Monitor the consistency on performance of product quality and process parameters on a regular basis and initiate improvement plans using the external expertise, R&D and reference information literatures available
4. Vendor Management
- Evaluation and qualification of vendors for raw materials and packing materials.
- Conduct periodic audits for Vendors and ensure the vendor follow legal compliance and Company SOPs and protocols
5. Third Party Management
- Be responsible for Quality Assurance and process of third party manufacturing
6. Hygiene (GMP, GHP) and CIP
- Be responsible for overall GMP, GHP, and CIP of Plant;
- Check hygiene status of the whole plant as per standards
7. ISO And QMS
- With overall responsibility for ISO 22000, EMS, QMS, HACCP, WHQ Audits
8. Investigations and Product Complaints
- To be an escalation point for all matters related to testing and quality assurance Improvement.
- Implement steps required to improve the processes.
- Investigation and approval/ rejection of the batch, performance of product quality
- Handling investigation and support to investigation & compliance for response to market complaints.
9. SOPs
- Prepare and implement SOPs for all process
- Ensure proper communication of SOPs to concerned Departments.
10. Team Management
- Responsible for Defining QA strategy, approach and execution in development projects.
- Ensuring that the teams adhere to the principles, guidelines and best practices of the QA strategy as defined.
- Manage training and continuous learning of QA Associates by means of short courses, conferences, meet-ups, certifications, etc.
- Provide leadership and technical expertise.
