The Due Diligence Landman will support a team of in-house land professionals in determining and verifying title and interest in minerals, leases and wells based on document research and interest calculations. He or she will report and explain findings to the project leader as required to meet project objectives and timelines.
Responsibilities :
- Calculating working interest, net revenue interest, net acres and mineral interest.
- Analyzing and interpreting oil and gas curative and title.
- Reviewing oil and gas leases for key provisions.
- Reviewing well files and well production; determining if leases are held by production.
- Reviewing rights-of-way, surface use agreements, easements, and damage settlements.
- Reviewing data from subscription-based and public sources such as the Texas Railroad Commission, NDRIN or DrillingInfo.
- Interpreting basic provisions of contracts affecting leasehold, including farm-ins/farm-outs, joint development agreements, joint operating agreements, unit agreements, and acreage swaps.
- Identifying title defects.
- Reviewing divisions of interest, revenue decks and joint interest billing statements.
- Aiding in the preparation closing documents and post-closing materials for due diligence projects.
- Completing other duties as assigned by the project lead.
