BATTERY TECH PARTNERSHIP DIRECTOR

ROLE:-

Lead the end-to-end efforts at creating and maintaining relations with battery tech firms ensuring access to the state-of-the-art technologies for battery development.

RESPONSIBILITIES:-

- Drive the continuous scanning of the global market for potential opportunities to increase the battery tech capabilities.

- Drive the decisions regarding the partner selection for battery technology and manufacturing

- Coordinate with the engineering team to understand their technology and capability requirements and expectations from the battery performance

- Ensure that the requirements are communicated to the partner team and translated into performance

- Drive cost reduction by ensuring timely upgradation to appropriate technology in the battery design and production processes

- Drive the partner selection through benchmarking on performance KPIs

- Oversee and contribute to partner shop/plant setup by driving the location selection, infrastructure development, personnel selection, etc.

- Ensure the timely fulfillment of partner contracts by monitoring and coordinating with the internal as well as partner team

- Manage all decisions towards assigning specific battery packs models to the right program based on cell and battery makeup, module behavior and expected performance



SKILLS:-

- Excellent knowledge of the latest developments in battery technologies around the world

- Exposure to optimization of manufacturing processes

- Excellent partner relationship management and negotiation skills

- Deep understanding of all aspects of partner management

- Basic understanding of battery chemistry and knowledge of battery behavior and high voltage safety

- Knowledge of material synthesis, physical and chemical analytics, and quality controls is a plus

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:-

- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related fields

- Master's degree in management is a plus but not required

- 10+ years experience in a relevant senior managerial position

BACKGROUND:-

- Experience in automotive industry and vendor eco-system (with significant exposure to Hybrid or BEV)

- Experience in working on battery mechanical structures and cell chemistry
