Job Description:

Position: Drafting Engineer

Qualification: B.E / B.Tech (Civil / Mechanical)

Experience: 3 - 6 Years

Location: Chennai

Software: AutoCAD

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Development and production of diagrams, compositions, and detailed drawings.

- Strong drafting knowledge in water treatment projects using AutoCAD and SolidWorks software.

- Able to prepare and review piping layouts, piping support layouts, and isometrics extracted from 3D models.

- Review the location of pipe supports with all required dimensions on the 3D model as well as structural drawings.

- Ability to work with codes and standards, based on guidance from the supervisor.

- Collaborate with technical leads and project managers to ensure design accuracy.

- Independently handle projects with minimal supervision and effective knowledge transfer.

- Create and review detailed piping drawings and specifications.

- Maintain accurate project documentation and records.

- Attend periodic technical review meetings with clients to ensure design consistency.

- Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.

- Prepare engineering documents for client submittals, including:

1. Equipment layouts

2. Basic civil GA (General Arrangement) for civil tanks

3. Preparing of Valve schedule and datasheets.

4. Foundation drawings for tanks and water treatment equipment

(such as pumps, blowers, HE, etc.)

5. Tank GA, detailed fabrication drawings, and Bill of Quantities (BOQ)

6. Piping layouts, including isometric drawings and specifications (BOQ)

7. Pipe support layouts, support fabrication drawings, and BOQ

- Execute lists, including accompanying specification items.

- Ensures (at departmental level) the implementation and compliance with the KAM policy as laid down in the KAM plan.

- Responsible for the execution of assignments as provided by the Head of the Group.

- Ensure compliance with the applicable rules of conduct and safety.

- Ensure world-class engineering processes by driving down costs and ensuring an efficient and transparent engineering process that delivers on time and within budget.

- Ensure timely, qualitative, safe, and cost-effective design of all pre-order and project engineering work by setting and maintaining regional engineering standards based on global and legislative norms and standards.

- Ensure the implementation of global product standards and global process know-how, including best practices, guidelines, data visibility, toolboxes, and aids, while providing regional engineering input.

- Develop and implement the European strategy within engineering and support the optimization of all internal processes with Paques Europe.

- Develop and grow world-class engineers, working with world-class processes and balancing quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness in line with the Paques mission.

- Optimize the flexibility of engineering capacity and maximize capacity utilization.

- Implement and ensure the execution of the QHSE policy within the department as defined in the management system.
