Job Description: Electrical VESDA Modeller

Job Summary:
The Electrical VESDA Revit Modeller will be responsible for creating detailed Revit models for Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus (VESDA) systems. This role involves collaborating with engineering and design teams to ensure that VESDA systems are accurately modeled and integrated into building information models (BIM), aligning with project requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain detailed Revit models for VESDA systems, ensuring accurate representation of electrical components, layout, and integration with other building systems.
- Work closely with engineers and architects to incorporate VESDA systems into overall building designs.
- Ensure models are coordinated with other disciplines to avoid conflicts and optimize system performance.
- Create and update technical drawings, specifications, and reports related to VESDA system designs.
- Prepare documentation for installation and compliance purposes.
- Conduct regular reviews of Revit models to ensure accuracy and adherence to project standards and specifications.
- Identify and resolve any design or modeling issues.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of Revit models and design components.
- Address any design changes or issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
- Communicate with clients to understand their requirements and provide updates on model progress.
- Address client feedback and incorporate changes as needed.
- Stay current with the latest Revit features, VESDA technologies, and industry trends.
- Suggest improvements to enhance modeling practices and system design efficiency.
- Assist in the preparation of project schedules and deliverables.
- Provide technical support and training to junior modelers and other team members.
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings and contribute to the overall BIM strategy and implementation.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in BIM software, particularly Revit, Navisworks and AutoCad and BIM 360.
- Understanding of electrical systems and components.
- Experience with clash detection and coordination software such as Navisworks.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of relevant electrical codes and standards.
Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in Revit modeling for electrical systems, with specific experience in VESDA or similar fire detection systems
Preferred Skills:
- Advanced training or certifications related to VESDA systems or fire safety.
- Knowledge of integrated design systems and multi-disciplinary coordination.
