Electrical Head - Power Plant Greenfield Project

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Head to oversee the electrical systems of a 25MW Greenfield power plant project in Africa. The successful candidate will lead the planning, design, installation, commissioning and Operation of all electrical systems, ensuring compliance with international standards, safety regulations, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, plan, and execute all electrical works for the 25MW Greenfield power plant, including high-voltage and low-voltage systems.

- Lead the installation and commissioning of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchgear, and control systems.

- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (civil, mechanical, and operations) to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.

- Review and approve electrical designs, drawings, and specifications to meet project requirements.

- Monitor and manage electrical contractors, ensuring quality and adherence to project schedules.

- Ensure compliance with international electrical codes and local regulations.

- Develop and implement electrical testing and inspection plans during commissioning.

- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during construction and commissioning phases.

- Promote health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards in all electrical operations.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; a Master's degree is an advantage.

18+ years of experience in power plant projects, with at least 5 years in greenfield projects.

- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems for power generation, including high-voltage and low-voltage distribution.

- Experience with Electrical Balance of Plant (EBoP) systems and grid connectivity.

- Proven expertise in project execution and contractor management in EPC environments.

- Familiarity with African electrical standards and regulations is a plus.
