Engine Design Expert - Automobiles (10-20 yrs)
Incumbent will be responsible to design in his respective area of expertise (base engine/valve train/cylinder head/transmission/leap-lead) as per approved model strategy, state of art engines and technologies, further improve existing products, focus on the team engagement in engine technology and research related activities and ensures such delivery within CTQ parameters by developing and guiding his group of engineers along with implementation of relevant processes that enable delivering such highly competitive engines and technologies.
He shall drive the cost reduction activities/proposals for existing engine and shall take care to implement the same in all designs.
By in-depth knowledge of engine design processes and industry best practice this Role is also; to technically lead and guide as well help in build of a highly capable team of design engineers at high level of technical expertise, fit for improving existing designs and understanding and taking up any future technology from concept into mass production supported also by working in a structured and methodological way to achieve highest standards.
This role holder also understands and works on future technologies and hereby supports the HOS in executing development projects and building strong engine development team.
- Provides engine design related technical solutions, Implementation of core technical solutions meeting the CTQ targets for engine design projects
- Guidance in all technical issues and ensure know how enhancement to his team
- Ensure in time completion of all related development tasks as per agreement
- Effective test planning and monitoring the progress of the project, risks and mitigation plans
- Collaborate/integrate with all related departments and functions
- Provides innovations and new technologies, ensures commonality
- Escalate in case of un-resolvable conflicts of CTQ targets - Effective communication with senior management team for timely future decisions
