Engineer - CFD (5-7 yrs)
Responsibilities include interpreting customer inputs to create product simulation models required to perform CFD analysis, processing analysis, post-processing results and generating customer reports. CFD analysis may be used for validating design concepts, supporting root cause analysis, rationalization of existing product lines, redesign for cost reductions, quality, specifications, or product standardization, and product line expansions. Individual may be involved in new product development, original equipment and aftermarket services.
- Create 3D CFD compatible models from provided drawings or CAD files.
- Analyzes CFD models and physical test data and assist design centers to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
- Evaluates performance test results and CFD analysis for possible application to development of systems or other uses.
- Be proficient in computer assisted engineering and design software (Inventor, SolidWorks, Office, Fluent, CFX, etc.) and equipment to perform engineering and CFD tasks. Should be familiar with drafting standards and practices and apply them to drawing mark-up to show simulation results.
- Must be experienced in computational fluid dynamic simulation software and CFD techniques, including modeling and mesh generation, have experience in validation of simulation with measurements and data post processing, system level hydraulics, heat transfer and thermal simulations and fluid dynamics.
- Familiar with ANSYS (CFX & Fluent), Ansys space claim, SolidWorks, understanding differences between and sensitivity between CAD and CFD models.
- Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Engineering specializing in Fluid Dynamics.
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years post graduate experience gained in an industrial and/or research environment undertaking CFD analysis on components/products
