Engineer - FEA (5-7 yrs)
Responsible for undertaking finite element analysis (FEA) engineering activities across OE, A/Market and Development. Providing Technical support on tender enquiries .
- 3D CAE skills required; Solidworks, Ansys Workbench Mechanical, Ansys Space claim, PV ELite etc.
- Demonstrated expertise in Finite Element and Modal analysis at both single component and assembly analysis level. Specific professional experience with Ansys workbench is strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as integrity and lifting criteria and operating conditions, safety rules, Design concepts/layouts, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to operate equipment and undertake the full range of Mechanical Engineering Design tasks with supervision to support project execution.
- Clear understanding of Mechanical Integrity, life, material selections and wear applicable to SPX product portfolio.
- Ability to apply skills to and undertake RCA in a logical and professional manner.
- Team working ability and an attitude of collaboration, mentoring and flexibility.
- Willingness and confidence to communicate (written and presentation) with a professional and knowledgeable approach and manner to all levels, including Management, Peers, Shop-floor as well as Customer and Supplier representatives.
- Pumping equipment experience preferred
- Ability to write and communicate clearly; Technical writing experience preferred but not required
- Undertake the full range of Mechanical Engineering Design tasks under supervision including, but not limited to, finite element analysis including: baseplate design analysis, pressure boundary design analysis, and pipework design analysis across a number of different pump types, Modal analysis, Static stress analysis, Fatigue analysis, Non-linear analysis. Design Calculations to Standards and Engineering Plans, FMEA, Risk Assessment, DFMA, VE, relevant product and market CODE / Standards compliance (e.g., ASME, API etc).
- Pressure vessel Design calculation using PVElite. (ASME, PD5500)
