Engineering Design Lead - Automotive (2-5 yrs)
Job Responsibilities :
- Concept design based on specifications and other critical data provided by the client.
- Drawing sketches of the concept succeeded by master sections/2D layouts/stick models to prove the feasibility of the concept.
- 3D CAD and 2D drawing release as per client's database management system in a time bound manner.
- Guide a team of 5-10 engineers to complete all project activities on time and with superlative quality.
- Training of new engineers who join under direct supervision.
- Ensure products meet specification, functional, design and performance requirements in accordance with client's inputs.
- Produce drawings, calculations, specifications & technical reports related to running projects or for future capabilities.
- Ensure projects are delivered to agreed budgets, timescales, KPI's and are effectively communicated to team members within the business and with clients.
- Support and develop the design engineers within the products team to enhance and create future capability.
- Ensure intellectual property and abide by the rules of the company/client.
Essential Requirements :
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Automotive Sector, preferably as Engineering Design Lead for Automotive Products (Interior/Exterior/Structure).
- BE/B-Tech in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering. People with ME/M-Tech in relevant courses can also apply.
- Thorough knowledge of CAD software CATIA (V6 will get preference). Part Modelling/Surface Modelling/Assembly Design/2D Drafting.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office tools (MS Excel, MS Word & MS Presentation).
- Effective time management / project management ability.
- Knowledge and practical use of engineering standards. (Manufacturing, Homologation etc.)
- Excellent technical and analytical skills.
- Strong presentation & communication skills.
- Ability to work under own initiative as well as part of a team.
