Engineering Head - Design - Industrial Gears (15-20 yrs)
Position: Head - Engineering
Function: Engineering - Design (Industrial Gears). CANDIDATES ONLY WITH MOTOR GEAR EXPERIENCE NEED NOT APPLY.
INDUSTRIAL GEARS ARE USED IN CEMENT, STEEL, PAPER INDUSTRIES ETC
Education: B.Tech [ Mechanical ] / M.Tech[ Mechanical ]
Salary: 20 LPA to 24LPA
Reports to: Business Head
Reportees: 3 direct with a total team of 6-10 people
Knowledge:
i) Gear domain expertise for gear geometry, rating and optimization & sizing of components for IGB's (industrial Gear Boxes), Special Gear Box in various segments.
ii)Expertise in using CAD, CAE Tools & software like kissof, Pro E, Ansys
iii)Metallurgy concept, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance), Failure Mode Effect analysis
iv)Design process flow of manufacturing & assembly
v) Six sigma concept
vi) Strong fundamentals of New product development
Job Description:
- Oversee the production of design plans and related inputs for non standard and standard products, by reengineering or understanding customer/product requirements, complexity involved, allocating tasks to the right teams and providing technical inputs, in order for manufacturing to commence production. Additionally assist manufacturing team by responding to queries/trouble shooting and providing information on tools required for achieving final desired design/parameters.
- Manage the response to RFQs by evaluating the feasibility of the requirement on the lines of cost and Shanti Gears Ltd's capabilities, and then producing suitable designs along with the requirements for manufacturing the product, based on customer/product specifications that have been provided by the marketing team, so that the costing team can appropriately price the product, with the objective of converting enquiries into a sale.
- Visit Key Vendors/ Customers for query handling, complaints, training, create awareness on product features and utilization to improve customer connect and customer service
- Assess vendors shortlisted by the purchase team and report on their technical capability for further processing and empanelment by the purchase team. Additionally, train/educate vendors on materials/technology/improvements/changes on a need basis
