Engineering Head - Electric & Hybrid Vehicles (18-23 yrs)
ABOUT THE ROLE: Accountable for Engineering design and development of Electric and hybrid vehicles . Responsible for managing the design activities involving cost, obsolescence, quality, ECN, testing/validation and PLM activities. Collaborate with all functional stakeholders to launch product in target cost/time/investment/quality/productivity.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Lead the New Product Development Projects following the new product process as per the agreed scope, schedule and budget
2. Collaborate with all functional stake holders to decide on product specifications, formulating the concepts and developing the product for various markets, directing activities of a CFT to develop and commercialize the project/s deliverables.
3. Conducting Technical Feasibility Study of designs given by creative design team, Option Evaluation, and Concept Proposals & Vehicle EBOM with assembly of required aggregates such as structure and powertrain to get the desired output. Planning the Design Reviews for finalizing Power Train & Vehicle Specifications
4. Leading Cross-functional Team to make decision on engineering changes across organization due to failures in field, warranty and service through structured methodology
5. Managing the Vehicle Layout & Package Study with Vehicle Systems in 3D CAD programs to create virtual prototype
6. Implementing change through engineering change request to engineering change notification, through validation, fitment trials and taking stock of inventory
7. Drive FMEA in Design & Processes and direct the use of software packages among team
8. Driving the stage wise BOM release, mule-testing and prototype build preparation
9. Coordinating with various internal groups like Homologation, CAE, Proto-shop & in- house testing to ensure completion of physical verification and DVVP. Also develop test procedures and design and develop machinery for testing of vehicles
10. Working with the Marketing, Sourcing & Manufacturing for Pilot Sign-off & Launch
11. Identifying developmental needs of the employees, training on technical areas, goal setting & performance evaluation, and maximizing employee engagement
POSITION PREREQUISITES
1. YRS OF EXPERIENCE: 18 - 23 YRS (Industry: Minimum 8-10 years of experience in Automotive OEM- s).
2. QUALIFICATION: B.E Automobile/Mechanical Engineering. M.E/M. Tech (in Design preferred)
3. Part of Professional bodies like SIAM, SAE etc
4. Publication of papers on journals and patents to his/her name
5. PREFERRED COMPANIES: Ashok Leyland, Tata Motor, TVS Motors, Daimler, Renault Nissan, Mahindra & Mahindra, Bajaj Auto, Hero Motors, Piaggio Vehicles, Toyota, Suzuki
6. LOCATION: Chennai
