Engineering Manager - Mechanical (10-15 yrs)
- Is comfortable delivering excellent engineering results in constantly evolving and fast paced product development environment.
- Hands-on leader and developer of innovative mechanical engineers/designers and first-line managers.
- Has a record of successful delivery of hardware products/components as an individual or team leader
- Has a track-record of building hardware product design/engineering teams and leading from the front, interacting with Business Management, Field Leaders and demanding Customers.
- Preferably 8+ years of industry experience, managing a team of at least 5 engineering/design professionals. At least 2+ years of experience as people manager, aspiring to grow in the managerial career path in product engineering.
- Worked in an Indian or global company that delivers high quality systems integrating mechanical hardware and electronics. Has demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional project teams.
- Has deep appreciation for technology evolution and modern engineering practices, quality assurance, testing, configuration & release management, defect management, and associated tools, deployed in world-class product development processes
- Can actively contribute to problem-solving, triaging and resolving defects with engineers in the team
- Is willing to coach/mentor for upcoming leaders in the engineering function.
- Thorough experience with PLM, product management tools and very good experience of Agile methodology.
- Aligned with the values and aspirations of ideaForge.
Desirable and Optional:
- Thorough understanding of aerodynamics and flight mechanics.
- Experience with composite materials (carbon, aramid, glass)
- Deep insight of high performance plastics and moulding techniques
- Hands on experience in product development of reliable portable electronics like mobile phone, tablet etc
- Experience in UAV design and manufacturing industry.
