Introduction : The Client is well known in the Indian and Overseas Markets as manufacturers and exporters of Chucks & Machine Tools along with Fully Finished Forged and Graded Casting Parts being supplied to Major OEMs in Tractor and Automobile Industries in India. The client is considered as one of the best manufacturing units, having in-house advanced technologies to develop and manufacture various Casting, Forging & Machined Components.

Primary Role:

- This role will be responsible for spearheading the engineering and research and development function handling complete product design and development and ensuring quality standards met.

- Identify improvement areas and enhance measurement systems, inspection tools and instruments for better accuracy.

- Establish quality standards and control systems for incoming raw material to ensure accuracy and right standard of products procured and reduce rejection rate.

- This role will work very closely with production and assist production processes in enhancing productivity, recovery and optimum utilization of all technical resources on a day-to-day basis.

- Develop and design all processes and SOPs for the Engineering, Research & Development function.

- Ensure adherence to all regulations and compliance required

- Will need to develop product lines as per APQP standards. Use PFMEA, SOP, PPAP tools to identify and evaluate potential failures and scope of improvement and suggest scope for new product development.

- Ensure Maintenance of Control Plan reviewed and signed off by client. Maintain all records of Material / performance tests as per DVP&R (Design, Verification, Plan & Report) methodology.

- This role will need to work with the senior management to determine viability of procurement. Laos work with departments like Marketing, Production and Finance for related activities and preparation on MIS. Implement and manage all poka-yoke and Kaizens for the function and ensure internal publication of the same.

- Work as a team and deliver successful research projects and ensure funding support for the same (internal). Support feasibility and risk assessment for all proposed research projects.

- Work with Management to ensure all business objectives are met

- To showcase thorough analytical, research oriented skills and be the thinking and innovation center for the organization

- Keep up with current industry practices and create engineering efficiency platforms

- Understand and showcase good governance and practices within the industry

Key Requirements:

- A Mechanical Engineering Degree is a must.

- Should have experience in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), PFMEA, PPAP etc

- 12 - 15 years overall experience, with experience in Research & development

- Bent for New Product development and a knack for innovation

- Should have knowledge of lean concepts poka-yoke, kaizens, 7 QC tools, 5S etc.

- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with high execution ability

- Experience in auto component manufacturing will be an added advantage
