General Manager - Machinery/Instrumentation Maintenance (15-19 yrs)
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Ensure maximum running of all the Machinery with full efficiency.
- Planning for Preventive Maintenance Schedules for all instruments & related systems carry out repairs with the least possible production loss.
- Planning the Spare Parts and Skilled Workers required for carrying out various planned repairs, well in advance.
- Co-ordinating with other departments such as Mechanical, and Civil for carrying out repairs within the least possible time.
- Providing all necessary assistance & guidance to the Managers/Staff in performing their functions, duties and responsibilities in achieving the Corporate Targets as well as individual targets set.
- Minimising the maintenance cost and improving the reliability of the Instruments.
- Developing a system of Objective Type Checklists to monitor the condition of all the Instruments.
- Ensuring the optimum utilisation of the existing instruments to achieve desired accuracies.
- Identifying the indigenous suppliers and service agencies to get the existing instruments repaired .
- Optimisation of Production and also reducing the cost of production by proper instrumentation, achieving the target set.
- Understanding the process parameters and their effects on production cost to suggest suitable instrumentation schemes.
- Planning for introduction of new instruments to achieve highest productivity in the process.
- Keep abreast with all the latest developments in Micro Process Controls and should carry on continuous study of the systems available in the Market and their application in the Plant Operation in consultation with Production Department and prepare annual budgets for procurement of new systems for submission to Top Management.
- Critically analysing the Fast Moving Spare Parts and taking steps to improve the life of such type of parts.
- Training the team of Engineers in Value Engineering, Industrial Engineering & Productivity Techniques.
- Ensuring proper maintenance of History Cards for all the instruments incorporating efficiency parameters.
- Planning properly for replacing the inefficient Equipment where the maintenance costs are high.
- Carrying out corrections in the nomenclature of Stores Items from time to time, in consultation with concerned Department.
- He should liaise with the HOD (Stores) to find out ways & means to utilise non-moving obsolete spares.
- Develop - Code of Practices- for carrying out repair of various equipment and ensure their implementation.
- Monitoring all the costs pertaining to Instrumentation Department and ensuring that the same are within the limits set by the Management.
- Analyse the Strengths & Weaknesses of the people working under him to identify the training needs of each individual.
- Maintaining close liaison with Superiors in achieving the Corporate Goals set.
- Ensuring proper records are kept as per the systems designed and implemented in his area of operation.
- 100 % Safety compliance in the department
- Attending to routine Administrative Work arising out of the above Job Duties & Responsibilities.
- Development & Job Enrichment of assistants working under him.
- Carrying out any other specific assignments as and when given by the Management.
- Exercising control on Over Time payments and ensuring that the amount is within the limits sanctioned by the Management, from time to time.
- Participating in the Man Power Planning exercises undertaken, from time to time.
- Exercising properly, the Delegation of Powers given.
- Implementation of Executive Appraisal System as directed by the Management.
- Ensuring IMS compliance
