General Manager - Manufacturing Plant - Polymeric Waterproofing Membranes (15-20 yrs)

Qualifications - B.Tech Marine Engineering/ Mechanical
Age : 35+
- Candidate should have worked on board ships for a period of 15 years plus in various ranks. Experience as Chief Engineer is preferred though not a must. Candidate should be Chennai based.
- About the company - was incorporated in 1988, to manufacture revolutionary, modified bitumen based, waterproofing membranes and anti-corrosive tapes. Pioneered the manufacture and usage of these APP and SBS based bituminous membranes in India. Since then, have diversified into a number of other product lines, including Road Products, Liquid Waterproofing Membranes, Coatings, Adhesives and Construction Chemicals
- Place of Posting : At our manufacturing plant Alamathi, near Red Hills, Chennai
Job Description :
1. Overall in-charge of the factory
2. Should drive efficiency and reduce wastage in the manufacturing process.
3. Should keep strict supervision on Quality through the QC team for inward raw material, In process material and finished goods
4. Should drive Cost reduction Initiatives to reduce overall cost of manufactured goods
5. Should make improvements in the plant machinery and equipment to achieve better efficiency and reduce wastage
6. Should be able to manage the large workforce in the manufacturing plant
7. Overall in-charge for Quality complaints. Should be able to resolve quality related issues and liase between the sales team and the management.
8. Should have strong leadership skills and communication skills to overview the entire operations of manufacturing unit.
9. Support our other plants in Bobilli, Wada and Kosi.
10. Drive improvements in reliability for key aspects of machinery by completing reliability studies and identifying best planned maintenance strategy
11. Adhere to the statutory compliance for the overall functioning of the unit.
12. Frequent inspection of equipment and safety of the employees working at the manufacturing unit.
13. Should keep inventory and manage stores department and keep premises in ship shape.
14. Demonstrated analytical skills, problem solving, liasoning with various departments and keeping the management updated with the status of work done at the manufacturing unit.
