General Manager - Plant Head - Gear Manufacturing (15-25 yrs)

ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES
- Plant Operations Management: Lead and oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and cost objectives.
- Production Planning & Control: Develop and implement production plans to optimize capacity utilization, minimize downtime, and maximize efficiency.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure compliance with ISO, TS, and other relevant quality and regulatory standards while driving continuous improvements in product quality.
- Maintenance & Asset Management: Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to ensure minimal disruptions in production.
- Safety & Environment: Enforce stringent EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Process Improvement & Lean Manufacturing: Implement Lean, Six Sigma, and other best practices to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Machine Utilization: Manage and optimize the use of key manufacturing machines such as hobbing machines, grinding machines, and other CNC machining equipment used in gear manufacturing.
- Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE): Monitor and improve OEE metrics to ensure optimal performance, availability, and quality in production operations.
- Budget & Cost Control: Develop and manage operational budgets, drive cost-reduction initiatives, and ensure optimal resource utilization.
- Supply Chain & Vendor Management: Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure smooth availability of raw materials and components.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Technology & Automation: Drive digital transformation, automation, and adoption of Industry 4.0 practices to enhance operational efficiency.
ESSENTIAL/DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDING REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, CNC machining, heat treatment, assembly lines, lean methodologies, and machine utilization for gear manufacturing (hobbing, grinding, etc.).
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead large teams, drive strategic initiatives, and manage cross-functional collaborations.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze operational data, identify issues, and implement effective solutions.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with industry-specific compliance, safety, and quality management systems.
- Communication & Stakeholder Management: Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
DESIRABLE BEHAVIOURS :
- In-depth knowledge of gear manufacturing processes, including machining, assembly, and testing.
- Familiarity with gear cutting machines, CNC machines, and other production equipment.
- Experience with CAD software for production design review (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and control charts.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) for production tracking and reporting.
