We are inviting applications for the role of Mechanical Engineer
Responsibilities :
- Designing new products and/or supporting Installed Base of mechanical components & subsystems using Mechanical Engineering principles & Knowledge of FEA / FEM.
- Execute design to engineering standards. Work as a part of a team including cross functional team members & suppliers to deliver technical solutions. Work with customers and/or technical leaders to ensure that the technical deliverables are consistent with the goals of larger programs, projects or initiatives
- Engaging in all phases of new product development, including concept, architecture, documentation, design, prototype, test, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction and service support. Defining and executing component design verification
- Develops manufacturing process & assembly drawings to setup equipment's processes, production lines and testing requirements by studying the product and its design output
- Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment. Includes Manufacturing Engineers
- Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy
- Identify and deploy breakthrough technologies that can be leveraged to reduce lead time, improve quality, or reduce cost
- Support AME initiatives with wide business impact and ensure best practice sharing across the Global Supply Chain
- Ensure regulatory compliance through Qualification & Validation. Responsible for ensuring rigor in determining processes requiring validation, development of plans and analysis criteria, execution and final analysis and acceptance
- Monitor and improve productivity using Lean, Six Sigma or related tools while ensuring all customer commitments are met with quality product
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems - Process Validation, Equipment Qualification & Calibration process In-depth understanding of key business drivers, uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area
- Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions
- Work with manufacturing to identify and resolve manufacturing and quality problems related to methods, processes, tooling, equipment and product design
- Collaborate with cross functional team members - Internal & External (Engineers, Program teams and Suppliers)
- Hands on experience with GLPROD / SAP
- Thorough knowledge on Design change process
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum qualifications :
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering & Master's Degree in Mechanical Design with specialization in FEA / FEM
- Hands on experience in the areas of Plastic injection molded part design, tool design, Structural / Thermal Simulation, Testing, Design calculations, Design Optimization
- Should have exposure to correlation of Analytical Results to experimental measurements.
- Excellent teamwork, coordination and communication skills. Ability to meet aggressive cost, manufacturability, performance and delivery targets
Preferred qualifications :
- BE in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering/Mechanical
- Hands on experience in the areas of Plastic injection molded part design, tool design, Structural / Thermal Simulation, Testing, Design calculations, Design Optimization
- Medical device experience preferred
- Product and Process Development experience
- Experience in developing tools and processes
- Knowledge on Lean & Six Sigma will be added advantage
- Problem solving ability - Process & Equipment
- Passionate, self-starter, results oriented, strong minded, detail oriented and able to multi-task
- Exposure to a fast-paced working environment and ability to work independently
- Demonstrated program or project management skills
