- Assumes overall responsibility of Vendor development for supplier streamlining and optimal costing and coordination

- Coordinates with key internal & external parties for sourcing related documentation and compliance

- Takes overall responsibility for the sourcing of materials and other consumables and their delivery to plants considering costs, production schedules and inventory management

- Assumes overall responsibilities of managing the centralised Procurement & Vendor Development function through policy & process deployment

- Advice and control local units on their operations

- Strategises in finalising the Vendors for all the materials and other consumables for all manufacturing facilities for EIL.

- Prepares annual and monthly purchase plans and projections based on the purchase strategy.

- Ensures development and maintenance of strong relationships with suppliers/vendors leading to lower negotiated prices, better service levels, continuous quality improvements, longer term contract, increased profitability and a mutually beneficial long term relationship.

- Formulates the strategic sourcing & purchase strategy based on criticality of requirements, cost control norms and quality specifications.

- Develops & implements cost reduction plans through strategic sourcing to gain overall cost advantage without compromising with the Quality Standards and Targets.

- Ensures collection of strategic information from the market to keep an edge over competitors

- Identifies long term partners and facilitates long term tie ups with the vendors in order to increase profitability

- Implements cost reduction plans through strategic sourcing & vendor development

- Coordinates with CRM department for taking regular feedback about the performance of new products and accordingly provide inputs for product modification

Stock Management :

- Hands on with Project Concepts, Engineering, Scheduling, Costing and Budgeting

- Guide & coach team to meet targets using various tools like Negotiation, Alternate Sourcing, VAVE, Value chain optimization, Meeting Time & Cost Targets and ensure supply as per plan.

Qualification :

- Engineering Degree, Materials Management Degree

- 20+ years in Commercial function and at least 5 years in a position of similar responsibility.
